Dazzle Jazz Club, currently located in Bauer’s on Curtis Street, appeared at a second remote public hearing on June 16th. Lisa Pope and I testified in support of the new Dance Cabaret License. The court officer indicated the license would be granted.
The original application and hearing, January 5th, was an application for a license transfer from their current location to the DCPA at 1080 14th Street. Because liquor licenses usually reside with the location rather than the licensee, the Bauer building owners requested that Dazzle Jazz Club apply for a new license, allowing Bauer’s to retain the old license. The vacated space will be more desirable to potential renters with a transferable license in hand.
Fortissimo at the corner of 14th and Champa hosted a benefit concert Sunday June 11th for the Colorado Jazz Ambassadors, which is a youth Jazz Band that traveled to New Orleans in July. The Colorado Nighthawks, a New Orleans jazz band, kicked off the event, and youth band members took turns sitting in on different songs throughout the concert. Terra provided a plated brunch menu for guests. Fortissimo will be hosting Second Sunday Jazz Brunches on the second Sunday of each month. All musicians are welcome to sit in during these events. Additionally, Fortissimo is also hosting Broadway Jukebox Karaoke each Wednesday. Come sing along to all your favorite Broadway tunes.
4 Play Whiskey and Tequila on 15th Street between Champa and Stout is still struggling with HVAC issues and permitting as is Vanish, the Magic Bar, coming to the old Boney’s BBQ space. Neither volunteered an opening date. We’re hoping they will both be operating in the very near future.
NPU, the San Francisco based entertainment provider, will announce details soon for their upcoming immersive experiences. In the meantime, they continue to host private gatherings at their location at Pavilion’s on 16th Street.
